One community rink closed after fire

One of three community rinks at the WFCU Centre is out of service after a fire at the facility Monday morning.

The $1 million in damage was concentrated above the AM800 CKLW community rink. All rentals for this rink will be relocated to the WFCU Centre main bowl area.

All other scheduled programming at the WFCU Centre will resume as planned at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

Officials with the City of Windsor indicated they have taken all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of all users of the facility.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
