Local doctor recognized

A doctor at Windsor Regional Hospital was recognized by Ontario Health for his efforts in organ donation.

Dr. Tyler Jervis was awarded the Ontario Health (TGLN)’s Provincial Donation Champion Award, given to

healthcare professionals who are exceptional advocates for organ and tissue donation.

“We are honoured to have Dr. Jervis as part of our team, where his passion and leadership continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of patients and families. His commitment reflects Windsor Regional Hospital’s ongoing efforts to maintain high standards for organ and tissue donation within our region,” said Sharra Hodgins, Director of Cardiology.

Dr. Jervis was recognized for his dedication to providing quality end-of-life care and ensuring no opportunity for donation is missed.

In 2024, there were 1,035 deceased donor transplants in Ontario.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
