LaSalle invites public to grand opening of new fire hall

May 28 will be an exciting day for the Town of LaSalle and its fire department as it welcomes the public to a new fire station.

LaSalle Fire Station 2 is on Front Road and has been operating since January.

It's part of the Three Fire Station Operating Model approved by the LaSalle Town Council in March 2022. The model also includes the existing fire headquarters on Normandy Street and a future east station on Laurier Parkway.

With the addition of the fire hall, 87 per cent of LaSalle's urban area will receive initial emergency coverage within four minutes. That's better than the provincial average of 72 per cent.

The open house starts at 4 p.m. and there's a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5 p.m.
