High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Windsor Police have confirmed the death of a 51-year-old man in a crash on Sunday night on McHugh Street.Just after 8 p.m., a westbound motorcycle lost control and struck a bridge guardrail near the WFCU Centre. The driver was thrown from the bike and was pronounced dead at the scene.The crash closed McHugh Street between Mickey Renaud Way and Florence Avenue for hours while members of the Windsor Police Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated. It's now open again.Police are looking for witnesses. Anyone who saw the crash can call the Windsor Police Service Traffic Enforcement Unit at 519-945-9645 ext. 7032.
