High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a 42-year-old man following a traffic stop in Lakeshore.Officers responded to a complaint about an erratic driver at around 5:15 p.m. on Monday on County Road 22.While speaking with the driver, officers determined that he may have been impaired. He was arrested and taken to the Lakeshore detachment for testing.The Windsor man is charged with impaired driving and driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood.The driver's vehicle was impounded for seven days, and his licence suspended for 90 days.The charges have not been proven in court. The suspect will be able to respond in a Windsor court on May 27.
