Windsor's public splash pads open on Friday

With a forecast calling for sunshine and a high in the mid-to-high 20s, the City of Windsor picked the perfect day to reopen its splash pads for the season.

They are open every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the public to cool off in.

Splash pads are free of charge to use and are located across the city.

Here are the locations:

* AKO Park next to the Constable John Atkinson Memorial Centre at 4270 Alice Street.

* Captain John Wilson Splash Pad at 3950 Ducharme Street.

* Ford City Splash Pad in Garry Dugal Park at 1247 Drouillard Road.

* Forest Glade Park at 3265 Forest Glade Drive.

* Fountainbleu Park at 2960 Rivard Avenue.

* Fred Thomas Park at Windsor Water World at 400 Wyandotte Street East.

* Jackson Park at 125 Tecumseh Road East.

* Kimmy Lucier Splash Pad in Mic Mac Park on Malden Road.

* Mic Mac Splash Pad at Mic Mac Pool at 125 Prince Road.

* Realtor Park at 1198 Homedale Boulevard.

* Wilson Park at 700 McEwan Avenue.

Campaign helps buy bikes for students in need
