Update: Body of teen found in Detroit River

Windsor police say an Ontario Provincial Police dive team found the body of a 15-year-old boy after he went missing in the water on Sunday.

At around 3 p.m. on Sunday, officers received a report of a possible drowning at Sandpoint Beach. They were told that two teenagers went swimming, with one going underwater but never coming back up.

The second teenager flagged a nearby boater, who called police for help.

The Windsor Police Marine Unit quickly began a search, getting support from the Coast Guard, Canadian Armed Forces, and Ontario Provincial Police.

The search was stopped in the evening and resumed on Monday.

Windsor Police say the dive team found the teen's body around noon on Monday.
