Police seize $200k of cannabis from illegal dispensary

The Windsor Police Service arrested one person and seized over $200,000 in cannabis after a raid on an illegal dispensary.

On Thursday, the Drugs and Guns Unit searched an unlicensed cannabis dispensary on Tecumseh Road West near Ouellette Avenue with the help of the Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team (PJFCET) and the Ontario Provincial Police.

During the search, officers seized over $200,000 worth of cannabis products and over $1,000 in cash.

A 24-year-old was charged with possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling, possession of illicit cannabis, and possession of proceeds of crime.

The store was closed with an interim closure order under section 18 of the Cannabis Control Act.
