High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

The Windsor Police Service arrested one person and seized over $200,000 in cannabis after a raid on an illegal dispensary.On Thursday, the Drugs and Guns Unit searched an unlicensed cannabis dispensary on Tecumseh Road West near Ouellette Avenue with the help of the Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team (PJFCET) and the Ontario Provincial Police.During the search, officers seized over $200,000 worth of cannabis products and over $1,000 in cash.A 24-year-old was charged with possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling, possession of illicit cannabis, and possession of proceeds of crime.The store was closed with an interim closure order under section 18 of the Cannabis Control Act.
