Hockey fans will have a chance to watch the marquee event of Canada's pastime for free.
Starting Wednesday night, the Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association (DWBIA) will hold public viewing parties for all seven scheduled games of the Stanley Cup Finals, between the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers.
"These watch parties are about more than just hockey," said Windsor Ward 3 Councillor Renaldo Agostino. "They're about community. They're about reminding people that our downtown is alive, it's thriving, and it's where you want to be before, during, and after the puck drops."
The schedule is as follows.
Game 1 on Wednesday at Cucina 360 and Art Walk in the Alley
Game 2 on Friday at the Loose Goose Restopub
Game 3 on Monday at the Manchester and Joywave
Game 4 on Thursday, June 12, at Panache, On A Roll, and La Guardia
Game 5, if necessary, on Saturday, June 14, at Lefty's on the O and Treehouse Bar and Grill
Game 6, if necessary, on Tuesday, June 17, at the Bull and Barrel Urban Saloon
Game 7, if necessary, on Friday, June 20, at Eastwood's Grill and Bar
All events begin at 8 p.m. and are open to all ages.
