Police make arrest after attempted carjacking

A suspect has been arrested after an attempted carjacking on Walker Road near Lappan Avenue Tuesday evening.

Windsor police were called to the area around 8:30 p.m. Officers learned that a victim was sitting in his vehicle in the parking lot when he was approached by an unknown man. The suspect pulled out a loaded rifle and demanded the victim give him the vehicle. The victim refused to comply and the suspect took off.

Officers found and arrested a suspect a short distance away. The rifle was recovered during the arrest.

A 21-year-old was charged with robbery with an offensive weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon, possession of a loaded firearm, careless use of a firearm, and possession of a prohibited device.
