High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Windsor police say a 41-year-old man is dead following a collision with a home early Thursday.Officers responded to a report of a vehicle crash at around 5 a.m. on Palmetto Street off Banwell Road in the east end.They learned upon arrival that the driver had somehow veered off the road and crashed into the house.The driver was rushed to hospital but was pronounced deceased soon after arrival.No one else was hurt, but the house's exterior sustained significant damage.Anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or with dashcam footage to share, should call Windsor police at (519) 945-9645, ext. 7032.
