Driver dies following collision with east Windsor house

Windsor police say a 41-year-old man is dead following a collision with a home early Thursday.

Officers responded to a report of a vehicle crash at around 5 a.m. on Palmetto Street off Banwell Road in the east end.

They learned upon arrival that the driver had somehow veered off the road and crashed into the house.

The driver was rushed to hospital but was pronounced deceased soon after arrival.

No one else was hurt, but the house's exterior sustained significant damage.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or with dashcam footage to share, should call Windsor police at (519) 945-9645, ext. 7032. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
