Fire on Amherstburg's Durango Avenue causes over $900,000 damage

Fire officials in Amherstburg are still investigating what started it, but said a house fire on Durango Avenue last week caused over $900,000 in damage.

The fire started on a back deck the afternoon of June 4. The residents attempted to put it out with a fire extinguisher, but when that didn't work, they evacuated the house.

No one was hurt.

A total of 40 firefighters from three fire halls responded to the fire, but the fire was too far gone to save the house.
