Fire officials say one person is being treated following a downtown Windsor fire.

Windsor Fire and Rescue crews were called to Pelissier Street between Wyandotte Street West and Elliott West at around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

One person inside the building was removed with burns and was transferred to a hospital in Hamilton.

At one point, water was being applied to the main floor and flames were seen on the second floor.

The fire was declared out within an hour.

An investigator from the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal will be on scene Friday to help find the cause and determine the damage.
