High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Municipal outdoor pools in Windsor and LaSalle this weekend.In the City of Windsor, outdoor pools open on Saturday, June 28.The city has seven pools.* Atkinson Pool at 2005 Riverside Drive West* Central Pool at 3301 Woodland Avenue* Lanspeary Pool at 1250 Langlois Avenue* Mic Mac Pool at 1125 Prince Road* Remington Booster Pool at 701 Edinborough Street* Riverside Centennial Pool at 6695 Wyandotte Street EastSandpoint Beach is closed until further notice.LaSalle opens its outdoor pool on Front Road this Sunday, June 29, but will be closed for Canada Day.The town is offering free recreational swims from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
