High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

LaSalle police are looking to the public for tips after two vehicles were stolen earlier this week.The thefts were in separate incidents that took place on early Tuesday and early Wednesday mornings. One location was on Canada Street off Todd Lane, and the other was on International Avenue near Michigan Avenue.A 2016 blue Ford F150 was stolen from its owner's driveway. A 2018 black Infiniti Q60 was parked on the street when it was stolen.Anyone with information or security camera footage to share should call LaSalle police at (519) 969-5210.
