Leamington honours late councillor

The Municipality of Leamington is honouring the late Councillor John Jacobs at the Leamington Marina.

A marina roadway will now be known as "John Jacobs Way" in honour of the councillor who passed away in 2020 while serving his third term on council.

“We are proud to honour John’s legacy in a place that meant so much to him,” said Mayor Hilda MacDonald. “John Jacobs Way is more than just a roadway; it represents his deep connection to our waterfront, his dedication to the community, and the meaningful contributions he made over the course of his service.”

The municipality said Jacobs was an avid boater who spent many days on the water.

John Jacobs Way is along the marina access route and will offer visitors a reminder of Jacobs' role in Leamington.
