Windsor to combine birthday party with City Hall Square opening

The City of Windsor will celebrate its birthday by opening a long-awaited outdoor event space, and everyone is invited.

The City Hall Square space will formally open on Sunday, and the City will combine the opening with its 133th birthday party.

The event will begin at 11 a.m. as Mayor Drew Dilkens and city officials are scheduled to provide opening remarks, cut the ribbon for City Hall Square, and lead visitors in the singing of "Happy Birthday" to Windsor.

Free cupcakes and hot dogs will be available while supplies last.

The event will run till 7 p.m. with live performances and activities scheduled throughout the day.

The Chimczuk Museum will offer free admission from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
