Female sought in Windsor auto theft arrested

Windsor police say a 37-year-old woman wanted in connection with a vehicle theft has been arrested.

On the morning of Friday, June 20, police were called to an abandoned vehicle on Ouellette Avenue near Park Street. Officers learned that it had been stolen from a home on Elsmere Avenue near Ellis Street East.

Surveillance video footage was soon released of two suspects leaving the area toward Maiden Lane.

A 31-year-old man was previously arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime.

Police say the woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon on Ouellette Avenue.

She is also charged with motor vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The charges have not been proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
