Holiday Beach closed

Holiday Beach is closed for swimming this week due to unsafe levels of bacteria in the water.

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit tests E.coli levels at seven local beaches every Wednesday throughout the summer.

Water tests showed E.coli levels of over 1,000 at Holiday Beach

A poor water quality warning has also been issued for Colchester Beach and Cedar Beach.

Water quality can change from day to day depending on the weather conditions and lake levels.

Beach water testing results are posted every Friday on WECHU's website.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
