Person seriously burned in Dougall Avenue fire

Windsor fire officials say someone was seriously burned in a house fire on Thursday.

Windsor Fire and Rescue crews were called at around 3:30 p.m. to Dougall Avenue near Pine Street. A fire had broken out in the home's kitchen.

One person was rushed to hospital with second and third-degree burns on less than 15 per cent of their body.

Three dogs were also found in the home. They are safe.

The damage is estimated at $80,000. There was no word on what caused the fire.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
