Teen charged for allegedly pointing handgun

Windsor police charged a 13-year-old after he allegedly pointed a firearm at a woman in a Walkerville park.

Police report they were called the park on Langlois Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on July 12.

The complainant reported that she saw several people inside a silver Chrysler 300 when she pulled into the parking lot at the park. She said one of the passengers then reached into the vehicle's center console, took out a handgun, and pointed it at her. After the incident, the vehicle took off.

Investigators identified a suspect. He turned himself into the London Police Service headquarters the next day and was then transferred to Windsor.

He has been charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon.

The handgun has not been recovered. Police say they do not know if the weapon was real or an imitation.
