Downtown Windsor going to the dogs this weekend

Dogs of all kinds will take over downtown Windsor this Sunday for the Dog Days of Summer event.

The event features obedience training competitions, a canine fashion show, and a demonstration from the Windsor Police K9 Unit.

"I wanted something right here in the middle of downtown so that it helps Windsor, it helps the humane society, it helps the St. John Ambulance and obviously everyone has fun doing it," said organizer K.D. Singh.

The event is free to attend, but donations are being collected for the Windsor/Essex Humane Society and the St. John Ambulance Dog Therapy Program.

The second annual event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in Senator Croll Park across from Windsor City Hall.

Pre-registration is required for the fashion show and is recommended for the obedience competition. More details about the event can be found here.
