Public invited to Run With Responders 5K this weekend

Members of the public are invited to participate in this Sunday's Run With Responders 5K along Windsor's riverfront.

Nearly 400 runners are pre-registered to participate in either the Kids Dash, the 800m dash, or the 5km run.

Also participating are members of the Windsor Police Service, Windsor Fire and Rescue Services, and the Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services.

Proceeds will go to three charitable organizations. They are the Canadian Mental Health Association - Windsor Essex County Branch, the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, and the Windsor Firefighters Benefit Fund.

The run gets underway at 9 a.m. on Sunday at the Windsor Firefighters Monument on the Riverfront Civic Terrance. The monument is behind the Festival Plaza Stage.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
