Multi-day heat event continues.

What:
Daytime highs of 30 to 33 degrees Celsius, with humidex values of 37 to 40. 
Overnight lows of 20 to 23 degrees Celsius.

When:
Continuing through tonight then possibly Wednesday for some areas.

Additional information:
A slightly cooler and less humid air mass will slowly move in Wednesday from the northwest, bringing the heat event to an end for most areas. However, here is the possibility that eastern Ontario and the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Areas could see hot and humid conditions continue into Wednesday. Temperatures Wednesday night will drop to the mid to upper teens, bringing the heat event to an end for remaining areas. 

Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index approaching the high risk category.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.

A man wanted in connection to a <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://windsornewstoday.ca/Windsor/news/2024/12/14/arrest-warrant-issued-for-man-involved-in-windsor-shooting">Windsor shooting in December 2024</a> has been arrested.Jashanpreet Singh was arrested by Peel Regional Police on Friday, August 8. An arrest warrant was issued in December after police said he allegedly shot at multiple people in south Windsor with one person shot in the leg.Singh has been returned to Windsor and is charged with attempted murder, discharging a firearm with the intent to endanger life , occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm and uttering death threats.Anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 519-255-6700 extension 4830 or Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477.
