Suspect wanted on theft-related charges

Windsor police have asked the public for assistance in finding a man potentially facing multiple theft-related counts from an incident earlier this summer.

On the night of June 29, the suspect was seen on surveillance footage entering a property on Walker Road near Seminole Street. A stolen vehicle was seen leaving a few moments later.

About a half hour later, security cameras picked up the suspect entering a secure compound in the area of Central Avenue off Grand Marais Road East, where he was seen loading property into the stolen vehicle.

Officers with the Property Crimes Unit investigated and identified the suspect as 44-year-old Richard Trudell.

He is wanted on five counts of failure to comply with a release order, one count of motor vehicle theft, one count of possessing break-in tools, one count of break-and-enter, and one count of possession of stolen property under $5,000.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
