Charges laid in Sunday crash on Hwy. 3 in Kingsville

The Ontario Provincial Police have, again, laid impaired driving charges against a driver after a collision in Essex County.

This time, a 22-year-old Belle River man is charged with driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available, operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol or drugs, and operation of a motor vehicle while over the legal concentration of blood alcohol.

The crash, around 3:37 a.m. on Sunday, involved two vehicles at the intersection of Hwy. 3 and County Road 31 in Kingsville.

One driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The other wasn't hurt.

Police suspended the Belle River man's license for 90 days and impounded his vehicle for a week. The suspect will also appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on September 24.

Police also remind the public that if they suspect a driver on the road is impaired, they should call 911 immediately.
