High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Police are seeking a suspect following a string of retail thefts that took place between April and June.On April 12, a man stole from a store in the 1500 block of Huron Church Road.The man has returned to the store six times and has taken items without making any attempt to pay.According to Windsor police, the suspect is described as a white man around 60 to 70 years old. He is 5’6”, 170 pounds, and has grey hair.The suspect is wanted on 7 counts of theft under $5,000.Anyone with information is asked to contact the Windsor Police Service Retail Crime Unit at 519-255-6700, ext. 4000.
