High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

The City of Windsor is now accepting applications for volunteers to serve on the board of the Windsor Essex Community Housing Corporation.City Council approved the restructuring of the board effective January 1, 2026."Our goal is to build a board that is not only diverse, but also highly professional and skilled," said Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens. "As sole shareholder of WECHC, the City of Windsor is committed to ensuring that we have a strong board governance structure with clear mandates and objectives."The deadline to submit an application is Friday, October 24, 2025. Interested applicants can apply online or get a printed copy of the application from the City Clerk's Office at 350 City Hall Square West.
