Canada Post strike delays voter information cards in LaSalle

The strike at Canada Post is creating roadblocks for voters in two local by-elections.

Voter information will not be delivered by mail to residents in LaSalle or Windsor's Ward 2.

In LaSalle, residents are asked to pick up their voter information letter, which includes a PIN to vote online, at the LaSalle Civic Centre starting October 8.

Voters will need to provide valid government ID to pick up the letter. They can also pick up the letter for other voters in the same household.

LaSalle residents can vote 24 hours a day online starting Friday, October 10 at 10:00 a.m. until Monday, October 20 at 8:00 p.m.

Anyone unable to pick up the letter in person is asked to call the Voter Help Centre at 519-969-7770, ext. 1263 or 1-833-946-3061.

Windsor's Ward 2 by-election is Monday, October 27 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Residents will not receive voter notification cards in the mail but they are not required to vote.

Eligible residents can vote in any of the seven voting locations in the ward on the day of the election. The addresses can be found here.

Advance voting will take place on Friday, October 17, and Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Campbell Baptist Church.
