OPP investigate the theft of two transport trucks in Tecumseh

The theft of two transport trucks is under investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police.

Both trucks were stolen the evening of September 27, last Saturday.

Just before 8:30 p.m., a 53-foot enclosed trailer was taken from an address on Ellils Sideroad in Tecumseh. Inside, a local of salsa and dip worth $35,000.

The truck, but not the trailer, was returned to the address without damage.

But just over an hour later, a second transport truck was taken from another address in Tecumseh, on North Talbot Road.

The OPP later spotted it on County Road 34 in Essex, towing what they believe was the trailer from the first truck stolen that evening.

That transport truck was found in Ajax on Monday, without the trailer and the stolen cargo.

Investigators believe a Jeep Rubicon was involved in the thefts.
