Windsor police are looking for help in identifying a young man who allegedly performed a scam on an elderly resident, then attacked them.
On Thursday, the suspect appeared at the resident’s home on Palms Crescent near Deerbrook Drive. He told the resident that a relative had been arrested and needed bail money, eventually convincing the resident to hand over $8,500.
The suspect reappeared at the home on Friday and demanded more money. When the resident refused, the man forced his way into the home, physically attacked the resident, and then ran from the scene.
Windsor police have released a doorbell camera video of the suspect.
He is described as White, approximately 18 to 25 years old, with a thin build and long brown hair. At the time, he wore a dark sweater over a white dress shirt, dark pants, and a surgical mask on his face.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect, or with additional information, should call Windsor police's Major Crimes Unit at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4830. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
