West Windsor apartment fire caused by careless cooking

Windsor fire officials spent much of Friday looking into the cause of a fire on Thursday afternoon.

Windsor Fire and Rescue reported that multiple 911 calls were made from the area of University Avenue West and Campbell Avenue, shortly before 1:30 p.m.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke in a hallway. The fire was confined to a second-floor apartment. Some smoke damage was observed in the hallway.

Investigators determined that unattended cooking was the cause of the fire.
