Knife-wielding suspect arrested after incident on Monday night

A 34-year-old man faces charges after a fight between two men escalated, and one pulled out a knife.

That was around 11:30 p.m. on Monday in the area of University Avenue West and Caron Avenue.

Windsor Police got a call from the victim, who said his attacker also chased him with the knife.

Once he got to a safe location, he called the police.

Officers located a suspect near the intersection of University Avenue West and Bruce Avenue. Using what police called "de-escalation techniques," they made an arrest.

The suspect is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, failure to comply with a release order, and failure to comply with an undertaking.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
