Murder charges laid after Windsor man shoved down stairs

Windsor police say they are investigating the city's third homicide of 2025.

Police were called at around 6:30 a.m. on Thursday to a home on Wyandotte Street West near Rosedale Avenue, on an assault complaint. Officers learned that a fight had taken place, with one man being pushed down a flight of stairs.

The 53-year-old victim was rushed to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect, who fled the scene before police arrived, has been identified as 45-year-old Kevin Christopher Harris. Police say he turned himself in to headquarters on Thursday afternoon.

He is charged with second-degree murder.

The charge has not been proven in court.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
