RONA+ stores collect donations for Brentwood

For the third year in a row, Brentwood Recovery Home has been the recipient of RONA+'s Home Sweet Home campaign.

Throughout the campaign, both Windsor locations raised funds through donations at the cashier and store barbecues.

The local stores were able to choose the local recipient of the fundraising campaign.

"Brentwood is such a staple in our community, it's been around forever. Everyone knows it and everybody has been affected by it. You talk to people and customers and they've been touched in some way by this facility," said Ryan Hill, store manager at the South Windsor RONA+.

The first two years of the campaign raised over $18,000. The funds were used to upgrade the organization's computers and to build greenhouses for a therapeutic horticultural program on site.

"It's really created a great opportunity for people who access our services to get their hands in the dirt and develop some skills and feel a part of something that gives back to our community and our programs in general," said Russ Robinet, Director of Culture a Brentwood Recovery Home.

The total for this year's six-week campaign has not been finalized.
