Charges laid in online child luring case

A 21-year-old is facing charges after allegedly engaging in sexually explicit conversations with a 10-year-old online.

The Windsor Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit began an investigation in September after being contacted by the child's parent.

Police say the parents noticed the concerning interaction on the child's social media.

On October 22, officers searched a home on Brimley Drive in Windsor in connection with the investigation.

The 21-year-old was charged with luring a child under 16 years old.

The charges have not been proven in court.

Windsor police are encouraging parents to regularly check their child's social media and set boundaries and parent controls to limit access to apps, websites, and chat features.
