Windsor Police arrest repeat offender

A man facing intimate partner violence (IPV) charges has been arrested for violating his bail conditions.

In March, the suspect was arrested on multiple IPV-related offences, including assault with a weapon, along with failure to comply with a release order.

He was arrested again in July for another breach of his release conditions.

In September, the man was granted bail with conditions that included a curfew between midnight and 1 a.m., no possession of weapons, electronic monitoring, and residing with a surety at a Windsor address.

Bail compliance officers started an investigation earlier this month, which determined the man had violated his bail conditions again.

The suspect was arrested on Ouellette Avenue on Thursday. During his arrest, police found bear spray, an expandable baton, 12.2 grams of cocaine, and 0.8 grams of fentanyl.

He faces two more failure to comply with a release order charges, as well as possession of an illegal substance for the purpose of trafficking, and unlawful possession of an illegal substance.
