Photo courtesy of the Special Investigations UnitOntario's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has been called in to investigate a fatal collision involving an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer.
At around 4:25 a.m. on Sunday, a member of the Essex County OPP detachment reportedly struck a 19-year-old woman on County Road 20 just outside of Harrow.
It wasn't clarified whether the officer was using a police cruiser or a personal vehicle.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital, but later passed away from their injuries.
The regional championship will be held from July 17 to July 19 and is open to spectators.
