Arrest made after three people attacked in downtown Windsor

It didn't take long for Windsor police to arrest a man suspected of threatening bystanders with a weapon.

Officers with the City Centre Patrol (CCP) Unit were dispatched to Ouellette Avenue near Maiden Lane at about 11 p.m. on Wednesday.

They learned that a man was seen by three passersby vandalizing a parked vehicle and that they tried to intervene. The man then allegedly pulled a weapon before running away.

The three bystanders suffered minor injuries.

A 21-year-old man was arrested nearby following a short foot chase.

He is charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and one count of assault.

The charges have not been proven in court.
