Investigation leads to human trafficking charges

Two men are facing human trafficking charges after an investigation by the Windsor Police Service.

On November 3, a 27-year-old woman reported she was forced to work in the sex trade and was sexually exploited over a three-day period.

After a month long investigation, one suspect was arrested in Barrie, Ontario and another suspect was arrested in Windsor on Cameron Avenue.

A 23-year-old and 27-year-old are facing charges of human trafficking, procuring a person to provide sexual services, financial/material benefit from trafficking a person, material benefit from sexual services, and advertising another person's sexual services.

The 23-year-old is also facing charges of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
