A 33-year-old is facing manslaughter charges after a prisoner overdosed at the South West Detention Centre in the spring.
Windsor police started an investigation after the inmate was found in medical distress at the detention centre. The man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
A postmortem examination determined the causes of death to be fentanyl toxicity.
The Windsor police say their investigation found that another inmate gave the man the drugs.
The 33-year-old was arrested this week on Dougall Avenue. He was charged with manslaughter and trafficking in a controlled substance.
