There's been a change in leadership at the Windsor Police detachment in Amherstburg.
Windsor Police say Staff Sergeant Jeffery Taylor will assume operational and administrative command of the detachment.
It provides policing to the town of 27,000.
Taylor was most recently assigned to the Professional Advancement and Training Branch, where he oversaw professional development initiatives and training programs.
He has held the rank of Staff Sergeant for the past four years, leading a patrol platoon. Later, he was in charge of the Internet Child Exploitation and Forensic Identification Units. He has also worked in Patrol Services and the Major Crimes Unit.
"Staff Sergeant Taylor's extensive experience, leadership, and commitment to professional excellence make him a strong fit to lead our Amherstburg detachment," said Windsor Police Chief Jason Crowley. "We are confident he will continue to uphold the high standards of service and community safety that residents of Amherstburg expect and deserve."
