Three youths charged with break-ins at a Windsor community centre

Windsor police say three young people have been arrested following multiple break-and-enters that targeted a community centre.

Between March 2025 and January of this year, officers responded to at least three reports of a break-in at the centre on Ouellette Avenue near Tecumseh Road. Picnic tables, outdoor pool equipment, and signage were damaged.

In each instance, surveillance camera footage showed the group entering the property, causing damage, and then leaving.

The three youths were identified, and last Monday, they turned themselves in to Windsor police headquarters.

A 13-year-old youth has been charged with three counts of break-and-enter. One 12-year-old youth has been charged with two counts, while another 12-year-old youth has been charged with one count.

The youths may not be identified under the Ontario Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The charges have not been proven in court.
