Update: Windsor Fire extinguish blaze near E C Row Expressway

Windsor Fire and Rescue Services says it has put out a structure fire at a concrete supplier on North Service Road East.

The fire service shared on social media that it responded to the blaze, which was visible from the E. C. Row Expressway, around 6 p.m. Tuesday evening.

The fire caused extensive damage to an office, a mixing room, a mixing tower, and two cement-hauling trucks. The blaze caused more than $500,000 in damage.

Crews had to work to protect a nearby diesel tank and "other exposures" from catching fire.

No injuries were reported.

The fire investigator is now on scene to determine the cause.

Windsor Police reopened the road between Central Avenue and Pillette Road late Tuesday night.
