Three charged following a series of Windsor break-ins

Windsor police have arrested three men after a home was broken into twice, and assorted items were stolen.

Officers were called at approximately 11:30 p.m. on January 24 to a home on Erie Street East, near Howard Avenue. Two men threw a rock at a window, unlocked the front door, and entered. A safe containing jewelry and money was taken.

Police returned to the residence at around 5:30 a.m. on January 26. Two men entered through the same unsecured door and pried open a safe. Two shotguns, a rifle-style BB gun, and various bottles of alcoholic beverages were taken.

Investigators with the Target Base Unit soon identified three suspects.

One suspect was arrested on Monday afternoon in the Glengarry area. Police seized a digital scale and two bottles of hydromorphone tablets.

A second suspect was arrested nearby about an hour later.

On Tuesday, police arrested the third suspect in the same neighbourhood.

The shotguns and the BB gun were seized.

The three men, aged 28, 32, and 44, are facing multiple charges, including break-and-enter, firearm possession, drug possession, wearing a disguise to commit an offence, and breach of probation.

The charges have not been proven in court.
