Man charged after woman kidnapped, drugged, sexually assaulted

Windsor police say a man is facing several charges after a woman held against her will and sexually assaulted.

Police report the woman came forward last month to report the assault. She told officers that a man she knew approached her near Goyeau Street and Wyandotte Street and forced her into a vehicle.

She said she was taken to a hotel where she was confined for a week. She told police she was threatened with weapons to keep her from leaving, was sexually assaulted, and drugged without her consent.

The victim escaped when the man left the hotel and she contacted police.

On Wednesday, police arrested a 34-year-old man in relation to the investigation. He is facing charges of kidnapping, forcible confinement, sexual assault with a weapon, sexual assault, assault with a weapon, overcoming resistance to offence by administering a drug, discharging a firearm, uttering threats, and failure to comply with a release order.
