Windsor police stop an attempted stabbing in the city’s east end.
Officers were responding to an unrelated call for service at 3 p.m. on March 14, in the Drouillard Road and Richmond Street area, when screaming was heard from further down the street.
Several bystanders reportedly began gesturing and yelling toward police, alerting officers.
Officers made their way to a nearby business, where they observed two men involved in an altercation. One male appeared to be running from the other, ducking and crouching behind a parked vehicle to avoid him.
As officers approached, the aggressor ran from the scene. Officers later learned the suspect had chased the victim with a knife and attempted to stab him.
Officers located the suspect at a nearby residence and was taken into custody.
The suspect faces charges of assault with a weapon and failure to comply with a probation order.
