Windsor police have laid charges following violent home invasion

Windsor police have charged four people following a violent home invasion.

At 8 a.m. on Saturday, Officers went to a complex on Glengarry Avenue after receiving a report that a robbery was happening.

Investigators say four masked people forced their way into the unit. The suspects assaulted someone in the home with a hammer and dog repellent, and they brandished a knife. They then stole some belongings and fled the home.

Two of the suspects were found hiding in a unit of the complex, while one was discovered in the building several hours after the incident. The fourth suspect was seen later that same day while walking on Ouellette Avenue.

Police have recovered some of the items and weapons used during the incident.

Police arrested the suspects.

A 36-year-old man, a 20-year-old man, and a 29-year-old man have been charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, robbery with an offensive weapon, administering a noxious substance, and wearing a disguise with intent to commit indictable offences. The 29-year-old was further charged with failing to comply with a release order.

The fourth suspect, a 40-year-old woman, has been charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, and robbery with an offensive weapon.
