A Windsor judge at the Ontario Court of Justice has been appointed as a Judge of the Superior Court of Ontario.
Honourable Scott G. Pratt will replace Justice G.W. King, who is a new supernumerary judge. King was appointed last November, leaving a vacancy on the Superior Court of Ontario in Windsor.
Justice Minister and Attorney General of Canada Sean Fraser announced the appointment of Pratt and other judges on Friday, under the judicial application process established in 2016.
Justice Pratt was born in Montreal and grew up in Windsor. He earned degrees in psychology and law at the University of Windsor and was called to the Ontario bar in 2000. He practiced civil litigation in Toronto and then criminal defence in Hamilton before becoming an Assistant Crown Attorney in 2001. In 2019, he was appointed to the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor. He's served as the West region director on the board of the Association of Ontario Judges since 2024.
Justice Pratt was also a guest speaker at the University of Windsor Faculty of Law and Department of Political Science. He's served on the board of Community Living Essex County and was a coach and convenor for the LaSalle Stompers soccer program.
