Two arrested, $15K in drugs seized after Victoria Avenue bust

Windsor police have arrested two people in connection with an illicit drug trafficking operation.

Members of the Drugs and Guns Enforcement (DIGS) Unit began an investigation earlier this month.

Shortly after 7 p.m. on Thursday, officers found two suspects at a home on Victoria Avenue near Elliott Street West. A search of one of the suspects uncovered six hydromorphone tablets and $400.

K-9 Officer Smoke was then brought in to assist in executing the search warrant on the house. Police confiscated 110 grams of fentanyl, 10.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 442 hydromorphone tablets, 56 oxycodone tablets, and eight bottles of liquid methadone. The total estimated street value was about $15,000.

About $5,900 in Canadian currency, $655 in U.S. currency, two digital scales, and packaging materials were also seized.

A 55-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman are each charged with multiple counts of possession of a Schedule I substance with intent to sell.

The man is also charged with two counts each of driving while prohibited and driving while disqualified.

The woman is also charged with failing to comply with a release order.

The charges have not been proven in court.
